Trek Description
The Kingdom of Bhutan offers the Himalayan traveler a truly unique cultural experience, magnificent mountain scenery and ancient Buddhist festivals. Situated at the Eastern end of the Himalaya, Bhutan has remained isolated from the rest of the world and only recently opened its borders to trekkers and travelers from around the world. Our Phubjhika Festivals trek combines exploration of many of Bhutan’s historic places of interest, including Taksang, or the Tigers Nest Monastery and coincides with perfectly preserved, ancient Buddhist Festivals. Making use of a chain of comfortable Bhutanese style hotels, we travel with experienced, English speaking local guides who will be able to interprate our experiences and offer personal insights into this fascinating culture. No trip to Bhutan would be complete without a walk through the Himalayan mountains and our gentle three day trek in the Phubjhika Valley, home of the endangered ‘Black Necked Cranes’ will give us just enough time to relax into the Himalayan rhythm before visiting the annual Nyzer Dromchoe Festival.
Testimonial
If you desire an authentic adventure that will remain as a highlight throughout your lifetime, then I would recommend you join up with Wilderness Trekking. My opinion is based on over a dozen guided trips & expeditions with a variety of different companies and believe them to be the best there is. Mick Bromley has guided me on two trips in Nepal and one trip to the volcanoes of Ecuador. His compassion for people & places creates an environment of respect & understanding. Mick is definitely 'one-of-a-kind' and it has been my honor & pleasure to know him as a guide, and as a friend.
