I first met Mick Bromley in Nepal more than a decade ago. We were filming a documentary of the ascent of Mera Peak and Mick was our guide.Even before leaving Kathmandu, it became readily apparent that Mick’s goal was not restricted to simply providing safe, professional guiding services, but also to share his lifelong experience in the mountains with his fellow travelers. The successful climb to the summit of Mera, through its high and low points, gave ample testimony to Mick’s skills and experience, as well as his natural ability to make durable connections with those around him: clients, staff, and the local peoples as well. Not only have Mick and I have stayed in touch over these years, but in my own adventures I am always amazed to encounter so many people who know Mick, have a story about Mick, and of course, feel that same connection. With the launch of Wilderness Trekking I am very much looking forward to planning new adventure travel projects with them in the future.
