From a team of guides with over 1000 treks experience, we have selected only the 10 most noteworthy mountain journeys with everyday of every trek carefully planned for cultural interest, awesome mountain scenery and a gentle acclimatisation program.

The highest respect for our local staff

We strongly believe that no mountain experience is worthwhile unless our entire team is treated with equal respect and that all members are safe, well fed and equipped to the highest standards. With this in mind our staff are all equipped with western standard hiking boots, provided with tents, sleeping bags and sleeping mats and we take a second kitchen to provide all food and drinks for our entire staff throughout your Himalayan journey. After trekking our staff all have access to funds for ongoing language and mountaineering training to enhance opportunity for employment, increase standards of service and increase their ability to provide for their families.

Grass roots assistance for children of the Umbrella Orphanage

Many Himalayan regions are desperately poor and whilst providing a magnificent backdrop for our own life changing experiences we realise that giving back is something we had to make an integral part of our business. Several years ago we connected with the Umbrella Orphanage in Kathmandu and now take two children on each of our treks, offering training and work experience, leading to increased life skills and self esteem with an offer of employment in the future. As well as financially supporting the Umbrella Projects 350 children, this hands on work experience stimulates an incredible atmosphere of positive support and care whilst we are actually traveling through the magnificent Himalaya.

Leaving the Himalayan environment more beautiful than we found it

Some of the more popular Trekking routes have become littered with the garbage of individual trekkers and group expeditions. Whilst others debate alternative solutions to this unsightly problem, at Wilderness Trekking we just pick it up! Leaving all camping places and lunch spots immaculately clean is simply not enough for us and every Wilderness Trekking holiday carries garbage sacks and gloves, enabling us to clear the trails, every step of the way. A simple and incredibly effective way to solve a needless problem, our groups receive a warm welcome and a few raised eyebrows when locals and western trekkers alike see us leaving the Himalaya more beautiful than we found them.
