Trek Description

Trekking across Lunana is Bhutan’s most challenging and rewarding high altitude trek. Stunning mountain landscapes experienced through a unique mountain culture assure a truly unique mountain experience for the conneisseur of Himalayan culture. We cross 5000m passes and camp beside Ganga Puensum, the worlds highest unclimbed peak. Trekking with a team of Yaks, and experienced local guides and cooks we seem to travel back in time to a Himalayan land untouched by the 21st Century. We allow time to explore Bhutan’s capital, Thimphu, visit the world famous ‘Tigers Nest Monastery’ and enjoy a fascinating Bhutanese road trip, returning from remote Bhumtang at the end of our trek.

Testimonial

"I had the pleasure of trekking through the high passes of the Lunana District, with Mick Bromley as my lead guide. I knew from our first meeting the trek was going to be special and I was going to have memorable experience. I know Wilderness Trekking reflects Mick’s unique vision, and offers unparalleled adventure trekking journeys. Mick took advantage of every opportunity for us to meet local people, and visit in homes, villages, monasteries, yak-herders tents, and local markets. I’ve never felt more welcomed as a visitor, as I did in this remote corner of the world. I wholeheartedly recommend Wilderness Trekking to anyone with an adventurous spirit, who has a fascination with visiting special places around the world and experiencing one-of-a kind adventures."
